about

Written and demoed in June 1993, this was at the time the newest number in the lineup for the "lost" album and an obvious closer. It also gave me an opportunity for an ego trip; I'm playing everything here.

lyrics

No chance to take charge of the storm inside us
No chance to let this thing subside
We just have to hold on to the wheel provided us
Never mind that none of us can drive

Escalator up above
Wait to hear and nobody is named
Give the rail another shove
Your mind has been reclaimed

Why bother promising a new beginning
Forge a peace that no one will abide
Don’t you know that those who are sinned against always wind up sinning
Within the vicious cycle’s bounds, your actions are not justified

Move the wheel in another direction
None of you will ever be the same
There can be no resurrection
When your soul has been reclaimed

No chance to take charge of the storm inside us
No chance to let this thing subside
We just have to hold on to the wheel provided us
We just have to let this feeling ride

Escalator up above
Wait to hear and nobody is named
Give the rail another shove
You have been reclaimed
